MYTH AMERICA written and performed by Pam Wilterdink, is a collection of five vignettes about vastly different women working to redefine their “American Dream.” It moves from poignant and dark to outright slap your leg hilarious.
MYTH AMERICA premiered at the West Bank Cafe’s Laurie Beechman Theater in New York City. Reviewers called the show “…funnier than 95 percent of what you’ll see on SNL this season and has more to say than 99 percent of that show’s material.” They said of Pam, “Wilterdink does an amazing job shifting from the pixie-ish characters to the hefty with ease and finding the heart and humanity in both.”
Accord residents and wife and husband Anne Robinson and Stephan George are part of the production. Robinson was in the debut performance in New York City and Grammy-winning sound engineer Stephan George created the original sound track.
Jason Downs of Actors & Writers will join the Rosendale production. Rosendale Theater Collective Advisory Board Member Susan Einhorn is co-producing the play and serving as a directorial consultant.
The Rosendale Cafe is offering 15% off your dinner when you mention you are seeing Myth America. Good on Saturday, April 30 only.
