Ambiance: For the most part I enjoyed the atmosphere. The jazz music was playing softly in the background and the earthy colors were soothing. Having dined at the Bonefish Grill in North Carolina, I knew I was in for a great experience.

I was a little disappointed in our seating arrangements as we were seated near the restrooms and the lighting was very poor. I had to maneuver the candle on the table in order to read the menu.

Food Ordered:

* Bang Bang Shrimp
* Saucy Shrimp
* Bacon wrapped Scallops
* Coconut Crusted Shrimp
* Soup corn chowder with crab
* Tilapia
* Shrimp & Scallop
* Brownie
* Sprite and wine

Meal Rating:

The food was very tasty and plentiful. The warm bread dipped in the pesto with pine nuts and olive oil is an experience to enjoy. The Bang Bang Shrimp is a family favorite. Bonefish appetizers are truly a treat for the pallet. I was a little surprised when I noticed one of the shrimp in the Saucy Shrimp appetizer was not properly cleaned.

The soup was tasty, but a bit cool. We would have liked our soup to have been hotter.

Of course by the time the entrees we served, we were stuffed. That was a good thing because our meals were cool also. Rather than send it back to be warmed, we took it with us. Cool food is easier to carry than hot food.

Service: Meg, our server, was pleasant enough, but she spoke rather quickly as if she was in a hurry to get on to the next table. She was training a new employee and I felt that her attention was divided. She did comment, however, on the poor lighting at the table, by relaying the story that on occasion, several of her customers used flashlights to see the menu (the truth is, I had pulled out my small pocket flashlight, but the batteries were dead). The lighting was very poor.

Cost: $139.03 (excluding tip)

General Comments: Today’s experience was a bit disappointing. I would have liked my food to have been hot and lighting to be acceptable enough to read the menu. I also would have preferred a waitress that did not seem that she was waiting to get rid of us to get to the next. Maybe it’s the New York experience, but I enjoyed Bonefish Grill in North Carolina much more. Unfortunately, I think it will be quite some time before I try Bonefish again. ?
